Hello! My name is Rebecca, and I believe that everyone should receive Reiki! To make sure that Reiki is accessible to everyone, I offer Reiki on a donation basis.
What is Reiki?
The word Reiki is a Japanese word that translates to “universal" or "spiritual life-force energy”. There are also other names for this energy such as “qi” or “chi” used in China, and in India it is called “prana”. Reiki is a technique that allows us to awaken our connection to the life-force energy, providing stress reduction, relaxation and peace, and promoting wellness. It is simple, safe and gentle. A great explanation of Reiki comes from the book Reiki for Life by Penelope Quest. "It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of the person--body, mind, emotions and spirit--and it can also be used to encourage personal and spiritual awareness and growth."
Benefits of Reiki
It has been scientifically proven that stress is at the root of many illnesses.
Reiki
can assist you in attaining a state of deep relaxation which relieves
stress and awakens your body's natural abilities to self-heal. To
"heal" means to "make whole". When our mind, body and spirit are
"whole", there is less chance for illness to arise. The healing touch of Reiki can be beneficial
for those suffering from stress, pain, cancer/chemotherapy, depression, alcohol and
drug recovery, chronic illness, those who are transitioning at end of life and so much more.
I believe in proper nutrition and yoga for the body and meditation for the mind and spirit. I know that when I do these things I just feel better! The problem is that for most of us humans who haven’t quite learned how to control ourselves and our egos, this can sometimes be a difficult task. That is why I turn to Reiki! When I give myself Reiki or receive from another Reiki practitioner, I feel like I have just bathed in light, like the sun is shining down and warming my face. I am calm, relaxed, at peace. It reminds me of being at the beach. Have you ever been to the ocean and just laid in the sand with your eyes closed, listening to the ocean waves as they rise and fall? A soft breeze is whisping by. If you haven’t, I highly recommend it! In that moment, I feel one with earth, grateful that I am actually a living, breathing, sentient human being, experiencing life on this planet!
