Spirit of Sage

Our Story

Like most of us, I got sidetracked with life, school and work.  It wasn’t until I was side swiped with tragedy, the loss of my son Sage, that I turned back to nature to make me whole again.  Often when our lives take an unexpected turn in this way, we do some deep soul searching.  I began finding myself again in the energetics of our planet including energy medicine, plants, herbs and essential oils. 

My desire to stay connected gave birth to a new journey in mind, body, spirit and emotional wellness.  I learned the importance of caring for and being compassionate to myself and how it is equally important to share that with others.

I began immersing myself in Reiki in 2008.  I took Reiki I and II multiple times because I just couldn't get enough! The core of the teachings and practice of Reiki resonated with me and I began to experience the healing I longed for by reconnecting with my true nature. Eventually I received my Reiki Master training with Marydale Pecora through the International Center for Reiki Training and my Shinpiden training with Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki. I was so excited to share this experience with everyone that I began teaching Reiki in 2011!

And thus, Spirit of Sage was born.

During the pandemic I joined The Animal Rescue Alliance as a foster and volunteer.  Since then, I have fostered and found loving homes for over 40 kittens and cats.  That is not a lot in comparison to all the rescues out there. Along with the deep love, gratitude and reward in rearing these little guys, I have experienced firsthand the stress, worry and grief that comes with animal rescue.  My hope is that I can provide 30 minutes to an hour of relief and loving support to assist with the compassion fatigue our animal welfare community is experiencing and anyone else who needs it!

My relationship with nature began as a small child in Hood River, Oregon where I picked Chamomile and wild Asparagus from beneath the orchard trees where we lived.  Friends would stop by our cabin with a fresh catch of fish or venison and my mom would prepare a community feast.  I have been trying to get back to those roots ever since.
